Sumerlin named UF Foundation Term Professorship Award recipient
Congratulations to Prof. Brent Sumerlin on being named one of two recipients of the prestigious UF Foundation Term Professorship Award for the 2025–2026 term!
This significant honor, created in 2013 to support the University of Florida’s Preeminence goals, recognizes faculty with substantial research assignments and outstanding records of accomplishment. Prof. Sumerlin was selected from a pool of UF’s top faculty members nominated by their deans, affirming his transformative work.
Over the three-year term, the award provides $25,000 in resources to advance innovative scholarship and mentorship. This funding enables recipients to hire research assistants, purchase equipment, participate in special training, and fund other enhancements that strengthen UF’s impact in research and education.
We celebrate Prof. Sumerlin’s achievements and the continued excellence his work brings to the University of Florida and CPI.
