Sustainable Polymers Virtual Symposium – Jan 13 & 14, 2022

The January 13th session from 10am-12pm Eastern Time will focus on an Industrial & Community Perspective. The three panelists will be Dr. Joe Schroeder, Chief Scientist from NatureWorks, LLC who will be speaking on Shaping Biomaterials for a Circular Economy. The second panelist is Dr. Keefe Harrison, Chief Executive Officer from The Recycling Partnership who will be speaking on Plastics Recycling & the Circular Economy and the five signs of change and the third panelist will be Dr. Scott Trenor, Principal Scientist from Milliken Chemical who will be speaking on Plastics Sustainability Pinch Points and Areas for Improvement. The January 14th session from 10am-12pm Eastern Time will come from a National Lab & Academia Perspective Panel. The three panelists will be Professor Andrew Dove from the University of Birmingham who will be speaking on leveraging stereochemistry in sustainability source monomers. The second panelist will be Dr. Sophie Guillaume, CNRS Research Director from Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences who will be speaking on Stereocontrolled PHA: A matter of B-lactone substitutent and catalyst tuning and the final panelist will be Dr. Kathryn Beers, a Research Leader and Science & Technology Manager from NIST who will speak on enabling progress towards increased polymer circularity.

The Centers for Plastics Innovation (CPI) and Research in Soft matter & Polymers (CRiSP) at the University of Delaware, along with the Center for Sustainable Polymers (CSP) at the University of Minnesota and UH Energy at the University of Houston, are hosting a Virtual Symposium in Sustainable Polymers on Thursday, January 13th and Friday, January 14th from 10am to 12pm ET.
